Changing the Layout of the Notes (Desktop) ​

What it is: A manager-level setting that switches the visual layout (structure/presentation) of certain notes in the Annual Financial Statements, for example flipping the Property, Plant and Equipment note between different table formats.

What it's for ​

Different clients or reporting frameworks may require notes to be presented in different ways. For example, the PPE note can be shown as a horizontal roll-forward table or in a vertical format. The layout switch lets you pick the one that best suits your client without rebuilding the note from scratch.

Notes that support layout switching:

  • Biological Assets note
  • Deferred Tax note
  • Intangible Assets note
  • Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) note

How to do it ​

Switching a note layout (DX081) ​

  1. Go to Template Tools.
  2. Select Add Links.
  3. In the Description column, filter on the Green Line to see the available layout options.
  4. Tick the note layout you want to switch to and click Apply All Selected Updates.
  5. Read the notice that appears and click OK.
  6. Enter the Manager Password and click OK to apply the change.

The note will immediately show the new layout in the Annual Financial Statements.
